Centres of love?
Evangelicalism has done a great job historically of creating communities of light. But what of centres of love? Have we Evangelicals been as successful there? Are our churches known as places of love? Are we lovingly building into each others’ lives? Sometimes I genuinely fear that the answer to these questions is no and that this is one reason–not the only one, but an important one–why our churches are failing to make a profound impact on our society.

Good comments. I think being a center of love has two legs to it. First, we need authentic community especially in the small groups of the church. Particular Baptist Ecclesiology I think is very helpful here. Second, we need to faithfully and graciously serve our cities. When did our churches become more about being slick and less about helping those in need. We need to make sure we are attracting the unchurched to the gospel of grace rather than something else.
