Excellent review, Dr. Haykin. And this book is worth owning. I’ve come to have a very different understanding of Whitsitt as I’ve learned more about him in the past few years. It has been clear that his short tenure likely had more to do with his attitude than his views on Baptist history. And his doctrinal failure on so many key points is news to me as well.

Wow, what revelations. I used to live on Whitsitt St in Greenville, SC, glad that I didn’t live on Toy. But now I am not so sure! I also regularly traveled on Pettigru, Boyce, Manly and Broadus…
